VR cursor issue in version 5
Hi Small but irritating problem here. I notice in version 5 that the VR cursor sphere often resets its position after right clicking on a switch that requires right clicking to operate. It didn't notice this problem in 4.5, but now I notice it every flight. It's a problem if you have to switch a ban...

SimDirector not launching
I'm using version 5 with ORBX libraries, but when I try to launch SimDirector it gets stuck at 83%. I've tried launching through the menu, and directly, but no go. Any help / advice appreciated.

Re: VR Stereo Mode
I changed the video card to a RTX 2070 SUPER and the problem went away. It's theEnhanced Atmospherics / TrueSky that's the killer. The RTX 2070 SUPER is not ideal but it will work. It seems to be at full power when in Stereo mode. I hope there will be some improvement and optimization done to Enhanc...

VR Stereo Mode
Hello! I recently installed v5 (with the new hotfix) and tried VR in stereo mode so I could use the new "Enhanced Atmospherics. It didn't quite work. The image was not steady and the parallax was often wrong, resulting in intolerable discomfort for the eyes. I don't know if this is because of m...

Re: Oculus Rift s VR and P3DV4.5
Hi Another late response! This is applies to version 4.5. I haven't got 5 yet. I use the Oculus Rift S and the Oculus software with Prepar3d. In fact VR was the reason I got back into flight simulation lately. The mouse pointer works for me. I didn't do anything special, it was just there when I mov...

FSElite's Video
I noticed that on FSElite's P3Dv5 "First Look" on YouTube, there are a lot of senseless, negative comments, that have received a disproportionately high number upvotes. As someone used to seeing YouTube videos and comments, it's clear to me that some kind of manipulation of these votes has...

Using Event Listeners in XML gauges.
Hi The only documentation I can find on this subject is a list of event IDs here: http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv3/LearningCenter/utilities/variables/event_ids.html and over at FSDeveloper I found this: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=XML:_Events_and_Traps. Whether that last page is ap...

How can I change the Z postion of a 2D panel in VR?
I'm working on a simple XML map gauge which I want to use in VR, but it is too far away from the camera in the VC. How can I move it closer to the camera?

Asset Packs?
Hi
Are there any generic scenery model assets we can use in airport creation projects to save time? Things like taxiway designator signs and so on?
Cheers

Re: Frame Rates
I've installed/reconfigured/changed HW platforms using Windows from v3.1 to 10 on hardware ranging from decrepit AMD/Intel CPUs 133MHz to 4.9GHz. With the new versions of Windows it's not that big of an issue so I can't see why you're reluctant to upgrade. Because there can and eventually will be i...

Re: Frame Rates
You do realise that in most cases a change in motherboard is not a problem for Windows... It will boot and reconfigure itself as required. Go ahead junk your old hardware and boot up with everything as it was but on better gear. Hmmm.... Have you ever tried doing even a clean install of Windows 7 o...

Re: Frame Rates
My development computer has i7-860 + R9-280x + two monitors 2560x1440 and 1600x1200. However, the processor is overclocked to 4GHz. A slightly obsolete computer is good for tests of development. Also in this configuration, the slow graphics card is not the bottleneck. One sees it at the unchanged F...
