Are all the 3rd party developers abandoning P3d in anticipation of MSFS??? there were several addons scheduled for release that seem to have become absent!

I just received a 3rd party add-on update for P3Dv5HF2 this morning.

I have another developers still updating (not released yet) for P3Dv5HF2.

If you have a specific developers in mind why not contact them.

I have- no responses as of yet. I know Orbx was planning some minor upgrades to the Vancouver BC area, but today I saw that they have scenery already to go for MSFS, without fixing some of the stuff in P3d v5. Fsimstudios had some things slated to release , but there hasn't been any new information for over a month. I just invested in P3d v5 a few months ago and it would be more than a little irritating to watch the 3rd party developers jump ship

Well, I guess that after August 18 we will see what MSFS really is worth, and how much is hype....

That may well be why the developers are in a waiting mode.

Well one of the developers today, released pics of the scenery that was supposed to be released for P3D, demonstrating the progress they are making with it for MSFS!!

A new simulator is a money machine for add-on studios. You can sell all the old scrap again at a conversion cost of 20 percent compared to a new development.

@ FSTramp,

Are you suggesting the "old scrap" conversion (labor costs for the studios) to go into a new product (Sim) should be free (no charge) to you?

I've only tried to explain why Add-on developers are now less interested in Prepar3D or FSX.

Commercial developers, yes.

Freeware developers, no. There are plenty of people developing freeware sceneries for FSX and FS9.

I don't think so, as an old simulator is a money machine for add-on studios too, think about priced addon updates :-)
