Locating an airport in P3Dv5 scenery folder

Post by eburt »

Hello Everyone,

I have yet another scenery problem, but this time it's an elevation issue. I think I may have a double airport that is conflicting. ie" one from new scenery and the P3Dv5 one. I went to look for the bgl in the P3dv5/scenery folder but they are all numbers so I have no idea which one is the one I need to turn off.

Trial and error will take ages and ages. Is there an easier way to find out which bgl is related to the airport I am looking for. (CYXT). If anyone by chance might know which file I need to turn off for CYXT I would be grateful to know.

Thanks
Best Regards,
Ed Burton

If you download freeware Little Nav Map (https://www.littlenavmap.org/downloads/), there is an information pane on the lower left which tells you which files are loaded for the particular location you clicked on. Saves a lot of time!

I use the freeware tool "Everything" to search for double airports. You can search *KSAN*.bgl and the result on my system are 22 files. Half of them on the backup and the airport afcad is named KSAN_ADEX_RGM.BGL. All others with names like *_CVX or *_OBJ or GND_* have other functions. So I have just one for San Diego.

Hello @ SkyKing and Dan,

Thanks for the info on these two programs. I'll do a search for them and try them out. They might be just what I need.
