Comms Are a Mess

Post by ReggieC »

Greetings,
With 6.1, I'm finding that I cannot request a clearance after filing a flight plan; and when I take off, I am not handed off to the Departure frequency. I am just told I am leaving the airport airspace.

Others having these issues?

Yes something changed in 6.1 where ATC is not working the way it did.
I usually use LNMap for flight plans.

After loading the flight plan the request IFR has disappeared or you need to take off without clearance and file IFR later on.
PIA now. :-(

True, the ATC Clearance Delivery choice is currently missing.
But.
If your flight plan is already part of your flight (already filed) you will get vectors after takeoff.
Then you can later Request IFR Clearance from the ATC menu.

I did a short example departure video.

Note: LM is now using FAA CIFP (Coded Instrument Flight Procedures). So, there could be a few more things to work out.

Yes this needs a hotfix quick.
FP no longer loads/displays into GPS.
Picking up a saved flight and requesting IFR clearance crashes 6.1
Going back to 6.0 for now.

Hello Daveo,
Dave

Which GPS?

Was the saved flight created in 6.1?

Not enough information to duplicate ?

Of course the flight was created in 6.1.
The stock GPS in the AC commander I was referring to.

Not much more info to add here as there were no crash reports or anything in Event Viewer.
Just something broken here that needs to be fixed.

I did try loading the actual flight plan used before loading the flight which seemed to work but never got any vectors to the airport in the flight plan or any runway assignment. Instead of any landing clearance to ESSB I was vectored almost 30 miles north of ESSA before I cancelled, turned around and landed at ESSB without clearance, squawk 7700 of course. ;-)

For now it is just VFR flights.

Happy New Year everyone!
