You do not need to uninstall v2 before installing v3.
If you're having issues installing, check the checksums of your files against those found on the downloads page. Also, how much room do you have available on your C:\ drive? You need at least 10GB open on C;\.

On C: I've more than 40 giga open room, however I want to install P3D3 in another hd. I'll have a check with hte checksum. I use 7zip: is it possible to verify with it or you suggest a free software to che chek it?

Ok, figured out how to perform a checksum and they match. I had previously installed P3D v3 several weeks ago successfully, but it became corrupted and I uninstalled all the files properly. Tried to re-install and that is when the problems cropped up. Any advice is welcome.

I'd guess your registry is messed up.
You could try running a registry fixer like CC cleaner as a freeware example. (At you're own Risk)
Alternatives maybe a reformat of your HDD and re-installation of windows and everything.

I've just tried with CCleaner to clean up registry, but nothing. I can't format C:, I've a lot of other things in my pc (job, home and so on). Is there nothing else to do?
I use Win7. If I update it to Win10 colud be solve?

I would doubt upgrading to win 10 will fix it. Sorry I don't know what else to suggest.

In your Windows control panel, do you have any lines that say Prepar3D v3? If so, try uninstalling all of them. There may be a package still on your computer. Afterwards, make sure that there are no files in any of the following locations:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 (or the modified install location)
%PROGRAMDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3
%APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Prepar3D v3 Files

No, there's nothing, it's all clean. I've found just the files folder in Documents of the old v2, I've deleted it. I've found, about v3, only log files txt about my installation tires.

I've found something that can be involved in my problem. I've forgotten that in the past, to save space in C:, I've moved the Program data/Package cache in D: following the suggest reported here https://www.roelvanlisdonk.nl/?p=4277 . Can you help me to delete this forwarding to go back to have Package cache in C:? What have I to do in command prompt to remove the junction? Then I can move the direcotry Package cache from D: to C: again to have a try to install P3D3
