Anomaly
Texture anomaly in Diefenbaker Lake (near the centre of) NW of Regina, and near CJH7 (SE of) Saskatchewan,Canada. Looked like an iceberg looming out of the clouds. Wondering if this is a P3DV5.3 problem? Have emailed ORBX as well

Re: Anomaly
This is an anomaly that is in P3DV5. Who will action it? First one I've found and I have thousands of flying hours. I specifically came on tonight to add the LAT and LON.

Re: Anomaly
For what it is worth, I tried to find this anomaly.
Took off from RWY 08 (or rather the grass strip) at CJH7, turned towards the south and the lake. Flew (roughly) E along the lake until it turns N-S, flew up and down there, then back roughly W along the whole lake.
At no point did I see anything I would describe as an anomaly, much less as an iceberg.
I have all the ORBX NA Regions installed.
Jorgen
PS: Jim, if you will supply Lat/Long, then I will have another go at it.

I seen in your first post that you are using P3Dv5.
I am using P3D Academic 5.3HF2 (5.3.17.28160).
I posted a screenshot of the anomaly which includes the lat/lon for your review.

Re: Anomaly
Hi
I confirm this is a P3Dv5.3 HF2 bug.
No addon for me in this aera.
LAT: N50° 47.46' LON: W107° 15.84'

Re: Anomaly
I overflew the position given by Michel, and saw nothing but lake. All looking perfectly normal.
I will say that I am not sure whether my Orbx regions go that far east into Saskatchewan, but I do not believe they do.

Orbx Base is required to use Orbx Regions (I use both).
Are you using P3D Academic 5.3.17.28160?

Re: Anomaly
Jim,
Michel and I are working to see if we can figure this one out.
What version of Windows are you using?

Re: Anomaly
Hi Michel ,
Thanks for confirming.
Note:
There have bee times when pilots thought they had a full P3D install but actually only had Client or Client and Content.

Re: Anomaly
OK Vaughan
I understand that you says.
I have a look for each component version on my computer.
Regards
Michel
EDIT:
When I run P3D, in the Help Windows / About LM, I read P3D v5 Academic 5.3.17.28160.
So,I am using P3D v5 Academic 5.3.17.28160.
But, if I look at the components in Windows panel, P3Dv5 Academic is 5.3.12.28072 and Client, Content and Scenery are 5.3.17.28160
So, I presume the version in Help / About LM is the client version?
Do you think it is the cause of this issue?

Michel

Re: Anomaly
For what it is worth, and since P3D can be described as a successor to FSX:
Back when I re-started flying FSX in 2013, I had severe issues with anomalies/artifacts in some places. What solved it for me back then was this document (in its version at that time):
https://kostasfsworld.wordpress.com/fsx ... are-guide/
Some of the parameters may not be valid any more in P3D, but again, this is for what it is worth.
