P3D v6 suspended on startup

I have just updated to the latest version and fix. When I start p3d I get the splash screen and nothing else happens. In Task Manager it shows p3d as suspended. If I leave task manger open when I start p3d I can see the suspended come on about 10 seconds after p3d starts. I can end task with no problem.

I went to delete the prepare3d.cfg file but mine says prepare3d.exe.cfg.

Any help would be appeciated.

Hi maddog453,

Can you verify that you have the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables for 2022 installed? They should be listed in Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. If not they can be downloaded and installed from the Microsoft website. Here is a link to get you started:

When I first posted this I had tried several times to start p3d v6 with the result it was suspended each time.

I tried restarting twice with the same result.

I posted the request for help, turned the computer off and went to get some lunch. I just sat down and started my computer and p3d v6 booted right up.

I may be grasping for a straw here to maybe explain what happened there, but do you have Windows Update set to automatically update?

No. It will download the update but wait until I Turn the computer off. I try my best to not let Microsoft do anything without my permission.

I also turned off the automatic update to new versions. Lost data once.
