After initial load of the sim, in the middle of a flight either on ground or in flight, I see all of a sudden the reload tab showing the progress.
This can be shown a couple of times or more during a situation (flight).
I wonder if that could be an "ominous" sign for the future.
Instant P3Dv5.4 reload
Re: Instant P3Dv5.4 reload
I have never seen this on my own v. 5.4 installation, even with a lot of add-on scenery, photoscenery and AI aircraft with their AI flight plans.
Is your 5.4 installed on a mechanical hard drive, and what are your system specifications?

Re: Instant P3Dv5.4 reload
If your CPU is indeed running at 3.5 GHz, you might consider overclocking it.
Also you could go here:
https://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv5/prepar3d ... ation.html
and here:
https://simmershome.de/prepare3d-v5-einstellungen/ (this site is in German, there is an English-language option)
And to calculate your AffinityMask, use this calculator:

All this is to tailor P3D to your particular hardware configuration.

Re: Instant P3Dv5.4 reload
Checked my P3D.cfg and found almost all suggested values in there. I only added SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT=30 and FIBER_FRAME_TIME _FRACTION=30. I wonder if I need to revert to texturemaxload=6 instead of 9.
As for affinity mask it is =65535 (physical cpu cores=8 and total logical processors=16). Do I have to change anything here ?
The issue doesn't occur in every flight, it appears rather randomly.
